Grand Rapids Charter Township has a Department of Public Safety Services that is headed by a Director of Public Safety.  The Director of Public Safety is responsible for administering the Township’s Fire Department, conducting Township code enforcement, and is the liaison with the Kent County Sheriff Department – East Precinct and Grand Rapids Charter Township Ambulance a division of Rockford Ambulance.
